In an era dominated by fast fashion and fleeting trends, Anirudh Kollara, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing and Strategy at Linen Trail, is redefining what it means to build a truly enduring fashion brand.

With a sharp focus on 100% pure European flax linen, uncompromising transparency, and meticulous craftsmanship, Linen Trail stands at the intersection of sustainability and sophistication.

In this exclusive interview, Kollara shares how the brand is championing authenticity through traceable sourcing, why timeless design always wins over trends, and the subtle yet powerful details that transform garments into heirlooms.

From pioneering a digital passport for every product to perfecting signature pieces like the Harvey Classic Shirt, he offers a deep dive into the philosophy and precision behind building clothing that not only lasts but evolves beautifully over time.

1. Linen Trail emphasizes 100% pure European flax linen. How do you ensure authenticity, and what makes your linen stand out in feel, durability, and overall experience compared to blends?

We source exclusively from certified European flax mills. The traceability is non-negotiable. What sets it apart? Flax linen has a tensile strength synthetics can’t replicate, and it only gets better with wear. Blends compromise that. They’re softer out of the bag, sure but they’re also softer in two years, and not in a good way. Pure linen ages. It develops character. That’s the difference between a garment and an heirloom.

And we’re taking transparency further. We’re building a digital passport for every product, giving customers full visibility into fabric origin, production process, and lifecycle. For a fabric-led brand, that level of openness isn’t optional. It’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

2. Your collections are minimal yet sophisticated. How do you design garments that remain timeless while still appealing to modern consumers?

We don’t design for trends, we design against them, deliberately. The question we ask isn’t what’s relevant now, it’s what will still feel right in fifteen years? Clean silhouettes, considered proportions, nothing decorative that isn’t also functional. Modern consumers are smarter than they’re given credit for. They’re tired of fast fashion. They want something that holds up aesthetically and literally.

3. What are the small but critical details in stitching, finishing, or structure that make a Linen Trail product truly premium and long-lasting?

The details nobody talks about are the ones that matter most. Flat-felled seams that lie clean. Buttons that are weighted, not hollow. Hem allowances generous enough to let the garment live and be altered. Linen moves, it breathes, it shifts so every finish has to account for that. If the construction doesn’t respect the fabric, the fabric will tell on you eventually.

4. Linen is naturally durable and eco-friendly. How does Linen Trail ensure that each product not only lasts longer but also aligns with sustainable fashion principles?

Linen is already the most sustainable natural fiber by most metrics, low water, no pesticides when grown right, fully biodegradable. Our job is not to undo that with shortcuts. So: no synthetic dyes, no chemical softeners, no overproduction. We work in small runs. If something sells out, it sells out. That discipline is part of the sustainability equation, making less, making it right.

5. If you had to pick one signature product that defines Linen Trail, which would it be, and what story does it tell—from fabric sourcing to final garment?

Harvey, our Classic Shirt. Simple by design, considered in every detail. It’s cut from 100% pure European flax at a 60 LEA count, soft enough to wear all day, substantial enough to hold its shape. Then it goes through our Linius process: Linen Trail’s proprietary treatment that eliminates shrinkage and gives the fabric that perfect fall linen is rarely credited for.

Solid weave, regular collar, Naturally antibacterial, breathable, hypoallergenic. As low-maintenance as it looks effortless. This is the Linen Trail thesis in one garment. A subtle statement of class, every day, anywhere.
