At the centre of each successful design community is a profound bridge of industry and education, and none does it better than the JD School of Design, powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology. As curtains finally fall on the breathtaking JD Design Awards 2025 – Interior Design Edition, Bangalore, we celebrate not only the future-gen students who stole the show but also the ecosystem of industry captains who collaborate in making such events a platform for the next generation of design leaders.
From designing chairs to designing cities, JD School of Design is aware that education does not occur in textbooks. Hands-on experience, exposure to new practices, and access to front-line industry tools and mentorship are critical to JD’s education model. And this year’s Design Awards—brought to life by over 65+ design partners—were living proof of that commitment.
Industry Exposure that Starts in the Classroom
It’s the industry immersion in its teaching that sets JD School of Design apart. Students don’t just learn about the industry—students learn from the industry. They work with real clients, solve real design challenges, and are guided by working professionals from every field—interior design, architecture, product design, and more.
Partners such as Blum, Livspace, Signify-Phillips, Invisible Bed, Pepperfry, Craste, and Material Depot bring their tools, technologies, and expertise directly into the classroom, offering students immediate access to the materials, work flows, and software of real-world practice. These collaborations are not classical endorsements—they are living, breathing partnerships.
For instance, Adebeo, through their SketchUp training JD workshops, have helped students to see and express ideas in a professional manner. Similarly, Nippon Paints, Gomaya Paints, and Aura Plaster provide spaces for experimentation with new textures and surfaces, expanding spatial narrative and creative landscapes. These brands pushed and urged the students to build on their ideas and for a better future of design and present it at the prestigious JD Design Awards 2025, Bangalore Edition at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath on 23rd and 24th May, 2025.
From Showcasing to Shaping Futures
The JD Design Awards is not merely an exhibition area—it’s a hunting ground for talent. The year, with the partnership of sponsors like Furniture Fitting Skill Council, Indian Green Building Council, Ethos, and TERI, celebrated design that was future-forward, meaningful, and sustainable. Some of the project highlights are-
- Pepperfry – Mahima Donata I – LITTLE WINGS – Crèche for Government Sector

These partnerships don’t culminate in a trophy. For the students, they result in internships, mentorship, and even job offers. Design cafes like Bonito, Chettinad Tiles, MNM Glass Garden, and Wooden Street often recruit the next big talent at the Design Awards and workshops, so that JD graduates not only receive accolades but get picked as well.
Design as a Social Responsibility
JD School of Design also encourages students to consider design as a way of creating a positive impact on society. Partnerships with organizations such as TERI, Craste, and Indian Green Building Council inject a strong focus on green design, sustainable material usage, and eco-innovation. This is perfect with JD’s goal of creating designers who not only serve the market—but also the world.
As we close out this year’s Bangalore edition of JD Design Awards, the message is clear: design is evolving—and so are we as we learn it. With over 50+ industry partners alongside our students, JD School of Design is a portfolio in progress, but more importantly, it is crafting professionals to lead, innovate, and leave their mark on the world with design.
